Introducing the Smok Vape Pen 22

Smok Vape Pen 22

The current craze in the vaping community for the past two years is to produce starter kits. Which are an all-in-one solution for everyone's vaping needs. The SMOK Vape Pen 22 is one such product, with an eGo style battery with a diameter of 22mm and a capacity of 165mAh. Therefore, it creates a fixed figure of voltage based on the remaining battery.

The difference is in the base of the tank, which is completely sealed. While the inside is the cylindrical battery, it is not like the typical eGo battery. The operation is simple: press the fire button to turn the device on or off, followed by pressing and holding the button once more to vape. It's incredibly easy and safe, with all the protection requirements built into the regulator chip. Can you imagine an easier way to vape?

The Smok Vape Pen 22 is an attractive device. It looks like a tube mod, but if you look closely, the tank is part of the mod itself. The airflow and the base where the coil heads screw are actually on the top of the device, the only parts that can be removed are the glass tank and the top cap. It's pretty nifty because it shortens the device even more.

Like the other products Smok makes, the Vape Pen 22 also has a nice, long-lasting finish. I have been using the matte black variant, and I must say that the finish has a nice texture and helps make the mod easier to hold.

Build quality:

The Smok Vape Pen 22 is pretty solid. The whole thing is made of stainless steel so it is quite durable and the finish can take a couple of hits without even chipping. The built-in battery stays firmly in place, and there's not the slightest sign of rattling when you shake the mod. The fire button is nice and rounded, too, but it's big enough and sticks out a bit so it's easy to find and operate.

The tank that is built into the device also works as advertised, and if the top cap is screwed securely on the mod, the tank will not leak at all. You can put the mod aside overnight and it won't leak, so you can keep it safely in your purse and pocket without fear of juice leaking out and ruining your stuff.

Replacement coils:

The Smok Vape Pen is primarily a sub-ohm tank, which means it doesn't come with an RBA base, the only way you can use them is to install pre-made coils. Unfortunately, you cannot use other Smok coil heads in the Vape Pen as it has its own proprietary coils.

The Smok Vape Pen 22 Coils come in two variants, the 0.3 ohm dual core and the 0.4 ohm quad core. Both coil heads are rated for 20 watts to 50 watts, but this information is quite debatable because the Smok Vape Pen 22 does not allow for power control; The mod will fire at full voltage when fully charged and once you have been using the device for some time you will also notice the voltage drop.

The coils work quite well. They produce quite a bit of vapor for such a small device, and the flavor you can get from them is quite nice.
